Keep a positive mindset to have a better day

Think Positive!

Having a positive attitude is not as easy as it seems at all times. Some days it may be difficult because of personal issues, however, by trying to keep positive attitude, your day will change in a constructive way. The more you try to keep a positive attitude, the better you will feel during the day. Your positive attitude should correlate to your self esteem. Keeping a positive attitude can help increase your self esteem. By achieving a positive attitude, you will have confidence to be who you are. Knowing your self-worth helps you be more confident in the way you carry yourself. As cliche as it sounds, everyone is beautiful in their own way.

Having a positive attitude has many meanings. There are different ways of expression for these meanings. Simply by carrying a smile throughout a day can positively affect your day and possibly someone else’s. Studies show that putting on a smile, even if you might not be having the best day ever, can make you feel happier. Co-author of a psychological study revolved around a group of people with the inability to smile, Michael Lewis said, “It would appear that the way we feel emotions isn’t just restricted to our brain—there are parts of our bodies that help and reinforce the feelings we’re having.” Masking any sadness you’re having with a positive and happy attitude will help send signals to your brain that you are happy and content. This will change the way you actually feel.

Go into a negative situation with a positive attitude and an open mindset. Do not think the worst is going to happen. Usually when thinking the worst is going to happen, it does. Think of the positive outcomes instead of the negative, this can reduce the stress you are putting on yourself and give you a more positive mindset.

Positive self-talk is also a great way to increase your self-esteem and positive attitude. Talking to yourself is not a crazy thing to do. You can inspire yourself to look at things differently, or more positively.

Under tons of pressure, it may be difficult to keep a positive attitude, but you should try to not put too much pressure on yourself. When you overwhelm yourself with so much unnecessary pressure, it is very difficult to keep a positive attitude. There are many health benefits to keeping a positive attitude. Eliminating a negative attitude helps reduce stress. Researchers conclude that positive thinking correlates to:

  • Better endurance to the common cold
  • Augmented life span
  • Lesser rates of depression
  • Reduced levels of distress
  • Improved psychological and physical welfare
  • Reduced risk of death from cardiovascular disease
  • Better coping skills during difficulties and periods of stress
