Forensics Fever
By Moriah- Taylor Rutherford
Forensics is a competition based on speech and acting activity, students in forensics gain a variety of skills in communication and presentation. Students can choose from 14 different acting events including poetry, children’s storytelling, prose, duo with a partner, and dramatic interpretation. Speech related events include informative and sales speaking (with visuals), persuasive, impromptu, and broadcasting. Students who join this activity can expect to have two practice days a week and tournaments from January to late March.
One tournament that members of this club look forward to is the Mackinac Island tournament where students get to stay at the Grand Hotel and compete with other forensics teams from across the state in a more casual tournament. Students who wish to join forensics can either come to the informational meeting on Thursday, December 7th, or contact Mr. Thursam or Mr.Greene.
